Karen Bubb: December 2018 Artist of the Month

We are pleased to highlight the work of artist Karen Bubb, our December 2018 artist of the month.

Karen Bubb offers dynamic workshops and one-on-one consulting for artists, developers, and community groups who aspire to impact Boise’s cultural landscape. She served for six years on the Americans for the Arts Public Art Network Board and in 2012 was honored with the Governor’s Arts Award for Excellence in Arts Administration. She is Co-Founder of Surel’s Place, an artist-in-residence program, and Trustee of the Alexa Rose Cultural and Mitchell Family Foundations. Bubb earned her MPA and Graduate Certificate in Community and Regional Planning from BSU, and BFA from University of Oregon. A visual artist working primarily in encaustic painting, she is a member of Boise Open Studio Collective Organization (BOSCO).

In 2017 the Pettitt Group purchased this original piece of artwork as part of our Supporting the Arts initiative. Throughout the year we give away fine art prints of this beautiful artwork as client closing gifts. The original will be auctioned in November 2018 at our annual “Art Night Out” at the Boise Art Museum.
